Poster

This week my project is a professional poster. The picture is my own, I am quite surprised how well the photograph turned out and how well it works in poster form. I also altered my large K logo slightly, I increased the transparency of the white background of the logo so it would not be too much of a distraction. I wanted the logo to be included in the poster design, but be the entire focal point of the poster. Again, everything about this poster is fictional, it is just an experimental design. The building is actually called Showstreet Palace, however “Showstreet” is not clearly visible due to the angle of the photograph. For my example poster, I am fictionally calling this building, “WyttStreet Palace.”

I took this photo at Dollywood, one of many I took that day, however authors Bob Shepherd and Mark Beach helped me narrow down which photo I should choose. I took photos of this same building earlier in the day, but with lights on at night, this building is even more beautiful. Because it is fall, I decided to go ahead and choose the night shot of this building and work with the red/orange fall color theme. I think the red text and orange/red border accommodates the photograph nicely. Overall, the red/orange color theme, fall leaves and the orange and red lighting of the building really make this poster stand out.
